Aim: To develop knowledge and understanding of the application of general fundamental electrical and electronic circuit principles.
Pre-requisites / Co-requisites: Students must be admitted to the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering programme to enrol in this course.
Topics include:
* DC circuit theory, series, parallel and series-parallel resistors and voltage dividers, Kirchhoff's laws * Transients in RC circuits * AC circuit theory, capacitive, inductive components
* RC, LR and LCR networks in ac circuits
*Explain and apply fundamental principle of basic 3 phase theory
*Demonstrate use of electrical measuring equipment.
